Step Seven: Further refinements

The donkey is pretty well finished now. If I wanted to, I could stop here and move on to the background. I decide, though, that he needs a bit of texture.

I begin by duplicating the layer that contains the donkey. Then I use the Texturizer filter to apply a Sandstone texture to make his fur look a little big shaggy.

That's too much texture, though- I still want him to appear fairly soft and smooth- so I decrease the opacity of that layer until the texture is just barely visible...
