There are several ways to make the initial sketch
for your graphic: 1) you can draw the sketch
right there in Photoshop, 2) you can draw a
sketch on paper and scan it in, or 3) you can
start with a pre-drawn image. One of the best
sources for simple, pre-drawn images is wingding
fonts-- fonts that consist of small pictures
instead of letters. There are hundreds of these
fonts available for free on the web. (In this
case, I used the "9" character from the
Barnyard font, available for download at http://www.astigmatic.com.) I use the Type
tool (set at about 200 pixels tall) to type the
character onto a transparent canvas. |
